The School Database Enterprise is introduced as a UML diagram in Chapter 2 (Figure 2.16) and used in Chapter 9 to illustrate the relational,
object-relational, and object-oriented implementations of the same conceptual design. Modified UML diagrams are presented in Chapter 9 (Figures 9.1, 9.3, and 9.5)
to illustrate how UML can be used to provide specific directives to the mapping process, depending on the target database to be used for implementation.
