Salvatore's current research interests are in the areas of perceptual quality measure, and perceptual image enhancement.
Salvatore Bellofiore was born in 1964 in the island of Sicily, Italy. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from California State University at Fresno in 1989. From 1990 to 1993, he worked at McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Company in Huntington Beach, California. During these three years, he worked on an R&D Program of an anti-ballistic missile as an Engineer/Scientist in the Strategic Systems Division; here, he took several responsibilities as a systems design engineer, test engineer, field stationed engineer, software engineer, and cost account manager. He, then, proceeded to earn his M.S.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University at Tempe in 1995. He is currently a Ph. D. student and Graduate Research Associate in the department of Electrical Engineering at Arizona State University (ASU). Moreover, he is developing for Intel in Chandler, Arizona, an Image and Video Evaluation System in Windows 95 environment.
