Mission:

The Wireless and Computer Networks (WCN)  Laboratory is engaged in research and education in the areas of wireless systems, computer networks, sensor networks, and embedded systems. The emphasis in our reseach includes, but not limited to the following:

  • mobile patient monitoring using wireless sensor networks
  • data aggregation, source and channel coding, security, relaying, routing, coverage and clustering algorithms for wireless sensor networks
  • energy-efficient security algorithms for wireless sensor nodes
  • scheduling, channel assignment, relaying, resource management, user cooperation, routing, and security in wireless cellular networks
  • low-power interconnect and processor architectures for wireless communications
  • integration of wireless networks such as cellular, WLAN, sensor networks
  • nonblocking OVSF codes
  • Quality of Service (QoS) in networks
