The Multidisciplinary Distance Learning Initiative has been funded recently by ASU. The objectives of this multidisciplinary research are:
a) to develop, apply, and evaluate new rich media technologies,b) to bring together on-campus faculty, research centers, and groups with interest in instruction innovation and learning technologies and focus research on the next generation distributed classroom and on smart electronic courseware,
c) provide an integrated software and hardware environment for distance learning.
