Pledge Project: The Coadboard Boat

For our pledge project we had to build a cardboard boat for the first annual Cardboard Boat Ragatta held at the newly opened Tempe Town Lake.
The project was to build a boat that would meet the specifications given to us and to make it so that it could float just long enough for us to finish the race.
What we designed was a masterpeice, what was produced did not fail, but had a short life......we thank the giver of luck for that. We consider our efforts a success, even if they did produce something that was to later become fuel for a bonfire.
Following are the design pictures of the boat and pictures of us racing...can you beileve it actually floated..at least long enough to get us out of the water.

The plans

Look everyone Tedd seems lower than before...hmmm must have been that boyancy thing that wasn't quite working.

Well after the first yelling of "we're taking on water" by Tedd. And somehow it got heavier than before.

Well at least after it couldn't float anymore it can be used as a seat during parties.

And then came the end to the Xi class project during a rage of drunken madness at the pledge party.....adios as the mexicans would have said.
